I am 40 years old, weigh 105 kg, and underwent minimally invasive surgery in October 2023 to replace my aortic valve with a mechanical one. Since then, I have been doing well and going to the gym without any major issues. At rest, my heart rate is 80 bpm and my blood pressure is 110/75. However, whenever I climb stairs—whether quickly or slowly—my heart rate jumps to 120 bpm, my blood pressure spikes to 150/90, and I find myself struggling to catch my breath. After about 3 minutes of rest, my heart rate drops back to 75 bpm and my blood pressure returns to 110/75.Has anyone else experienced this? Also, why is it so hard to catch my breath just from climbing stairs?"

Hi everyone, Hope you're all doing well. I had my aortic valve replaced with a mechanical valve back in October 2023. Prior to the surgery, l had severe aortic regurgitation (leakage),but now everything is good. Today, I had another echo. Overall, things still look good, but I noticed that my EF is now 55% and the report explicitly mentions "anteroseptal wall hypokinesia." and this was never mentioned before-while I had about 12 echocardiogram prior to my surgery where everything was normal ,except for the valve leak and LV enlargement. For context, I joined a gym in August 2025 and have been exercising regularly with no issues. Has anyone else experienced a new wall motion abnormality long after a successful valve replacement? Should I be worried about this?
