I hope you all had a great weekend.
I am 40 years old, weigh 105 kg, and underwent minimally invasive surgery in October 2023 to replace my aortic valve with a mechanical one. Since then, I have been doing well and going to the gym without any major issues.
At rest, my heart rate is 80 bpm and my blood pressure is 110/75. However, whenever I climb stairs—whether quickly or slowly—my heart rate jumps to 120 bpm, my blood pressure spikes to 150/90, and I find myself struggling to catch my breath. After about 3 minutes of rest, my heart rate drops back to 75 bpm and my blood pressure returns to 110/75.Has anyone else experienced this? Also, why is it so hard to catch my breath just from climbing stairs?"
