About Me

I'm 48 and have been diagnosed a Barlow disease years ago. My last echo showed a severe mitral regurgitation, and the need for surgery, which is now planned for November 21. As I am asymptomatic, it's very difficult for me to admit that, and I feel a huge amount of anxiety. I just can't imagine walking through the hospital door that morning ... I hope to know during the next days, if I can get a repair and a manual mini-invasive approach. --Update 16/11/2023-- I'm now in the final week before intervention, which is planned to be a right mini thoracotomy by hand. I made myself very busy at work the last months, so was quite ok. I am now on vacation ... this is really not a good news for me. Many thanks to all contributors of this site, it helps a lot (but you know that)
