Hello all my heart warriors. I hope you had a pleasant and blessed Labor Day weekend. Yesterday I celebrated two years since my second open heart surgery. It was a very long surgery not related to heart valves but to the aorta and arteries repair. I want to once again thank my little Angel Susan Lynn who kept my daughter company via text during that very long surgery. Also thank you to all that prayed for a successful outcome. By the Grace of God, I am doing well. I’m still on Metropolol 25mg and it’s been good to me 🥰. And no, I’m not a walker but try to exercise several times a week. God bless you all! 🙏❤️❤️‍🩹🇺🇸

Hello heart warriors, an update. Everything went well with my carpal tunnel surgery today. I’m home recovering and feeling good. Everyone at Eisenhower surgery center was great and took good care of me. Surgeon said I could probably do the left hand in about four weeks. We will see. My daughter has taken great care of me, I’m grateful for her. Thank you to all of you who prayed and sent well wishes, they worked.

Richard Munson I am well, its just that i am very busy with work and everything else. and prefer to sit back and not comment as often on the every day questions that anyone can answer. the list of new heart patients is over whelming. I always tried to take the lighter side. Not everyone appreciates that which is fine. If someone comes along with a particular topic such as info on mass general in boston or minimally invasive mitral valve surgery i will try and help. One of my most satisfying moments was helping a local woman find a cardiologist and surgeon at mass general that successfully operated on me 3 years ago. Also finding so many dog folks to share pictures with was nice. Cassie and now shadow have been a big part of my recovery. Heart valve surgery is a very serious subject to be sure but a sense of humor can be good medicene in my eyes beyond metropolol and eliquis.

Sue Maize Please keep posting Richard—your humour is like medicine to me and I’m sure many others! Plus you have lots of important knowledge and experience to share with us. We’re all here because we’re all having or have had serious, and often life-altering heart valve issues….but we’re all different in many other ways and won’t all connect necessarily beyond that, which is okay. We can just give each other a little grace and not be so easily offended, and remember what’s important, that thanks to God and medical progress, we’re all getting 2nd, or 3rd or more chances at life! 🥰

Richard Munson You too ana, my heart valve sister. Hope your knee is felling better. Got a grandson invasion today. Decided to skip dog training tonite. Too hectic. Doctor visit parade the next couple of weeks starting with my 3 month eye evaluation. Hopefully no fireworks. Need to finally get my left eye done and get some focus relief before i go to heart valve heaven. We almost made a quick trip to heaven yesterday walking shadow and came very close to being run down crossing the street. Drivers today are nuts. Your heart valve brother may have called the man behind the wheel a few unprintables. I embarrassed nancy , oh well.

To all my heart warriors I would like to give you an update on my knee surgery today. Thank God and Praise Jesus it went well. I’m hoping to feel well enough to go home tomorrow and start the recovery. It will be rough but after recovery I heard it will feel great. God bless you all my dear hvs family 🙏❤️🤗😘✝️
