I had a routine appt with my doctor who heard a heart murmur. Went in for an Echo and was diagnosed with severe mitral valve regurgitation. Had a TEE for definitive diagnosis. Have been asymptomatic, but it was recommended that I have a repair so my heart does not sustain further damage. Scheduled for a Minimally Invasive Mitral Valve Repair at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto California on 10/12/26. Needless to say, I am still in shock. Also scared in anticipation of the surgery and post recovery.
