In 2005, Adam Pick, the founder of HeartValveSurgery.com, was unexpectedly diagnosed with a life-threatening form of heart valve disease. After a challenging recovery from open-heart surgery, Adam launched HeartValveSurgery.com to educate, support, and empower patients affected by this often under-diagnosed and under-treated condition.
Over the past 20 years, Adam has participated in medical missions around the world, witnessing firsthand the lack of adequate cardiac care for children in developing countries suffering from valvular diseases, including rheumatic fever. Deeply moved by these experiences, Adam personally funded life-saving cardiac procedures for children in El Salvador, the Philippines, Pakistan, India, and Uganda.
To expand this philanthropic work, Adam established the HeartValveSurgery.com Charitable Giving Fund in 2025. The mission of this fund is to sponsor cardiac care for children battling severe heart valve disease. Through strategic partnerships, the fund will provide sponsorship grants to 501(c)(3) organizations specializing in the screening and treatment of pediatric cardiac patients.
“Without the generosity of HeartValveSurgery.com, children would not receive the life-saving cardiac care they desperately need.”
