I will be having a minimally invasive mitral valve repair with a mini right thoracotomy. I am overwhelmed with choices for post op bras. Any recommendations would be most welcomed. Thank you!

The hospital sent me home with a surgical bra. I only wore it if I went out in public or someone was coming over to visit. Otherwise, I would go braless with an oversized T-shirt.

At my age I rarely wear one. I just have a loose fitting top on so you don't know. Plus, when I sweat I break out from the elastic in the bra. Nothing better than 'freedom' for the girls.

Hi Lori . I also had my surgery at Stanford. My surgeon was Dr Jack Boyd. I have heard that Dr Woo is their top guy. Everything went smoothly as silk.The nurses were great in icu. You will be fine. Stanford hospital is amazing.

Had my CT Angiogram yesterday. My cardiologist said my coronary arteries are good, so looks like full speed ahead for my minimally invasive mitral valve repair on 10/12/26. The CT did show a small nodule on my left lung, but my cardiologist said it is not an unusual thing. Will... Read more.

I wish I could have the robotic but doctors say aortic and mitral are too bad for it. Plus, I think I would have to go to LA for a robotic vs here in AZ.

Charlotte - Minimally invasive is different than robotic. It's an incision that doesn't require a sternum cut. There are lots of experienced surgeons all over the country who use this entry very successfully. Full robotic requires the use of specialized equipment thar is not available in every facility.
