I've had mitral valve issues my entire life. Maybe. It was there and then disappeared. One mention in childhood of a murmur, then nothing until I was 30 when a doctor hear clicks. Off and on, off and on, doctors didn't believe me. Then when I was in my 60s I started to go to a cardiologist for yearly evals. Regurgitation was mild and then suddenly at 73 it's severe! Yikes! I have no symptoms but I decided to move forward with the surgery before I have significant heart damage. During the surgical eval I discovered I have a leaky tricuspid valve too. Hopefully I can have two repairs. Very, very scary.
