Hi Kathy! That is great news indeed! ..How do they avoid a full sternotomy with robotic? Do they just do a small sternotomy? I am interested, in case I fall apart again. 😜

The robotic surgery is a small incision (dime size) on your right side through your ribs. They don't cut any bones at all. Adam has a lot of helpful info on this site about robotic surgery.

Today was pre-surgery testing at the Cleveland Clinic. I was there from 7:30 until after 3:00. I had blood work, urinalysis, MRSA test, EKG, chest X-ray, heart CAT scan with contrast, neck ultrasound, ECHO, and a visit with a cardiologist. I learned much more about my condition than I knew... Hi Kathy Wishing you well! I had my open heart surgery at The Cleveland Clinic also on July 9. What an amazing facility! You are in good hands! Check at the rooftop deck for beautiful views! Also the cafe has some nice food options.
