About Me

I am 75 years old and have a mitral biological valve implanted. The operation was in open heart (10/16/2023) and I currently feel fine. My concern was what alternative I will have when the valve deteriorates (average life of 12 years). I would like someone to answer me about that and the latest developments in this matter. However, I'm getting better every day and have returned to my mountain hiking activities. I receive a lot of information from the people in this chat and I contribute what I know. It just so happens that my professional activity as a physicist in a hospital has been research on medical devices and in a Notify Body as an auditor of medical devices and manufacturers for obtaining the European sales mark. I'd like to thank Adam for this wonderful blog. Contacting other patients helps a lot. Thanks all very much.
