I have bicuspid aortic stenosis. I recently found out I also have an aortic aneurysm that is 4.5cm. I am looking at traveling for the Ross procedure to see Dr. Ismail El Hamamsy. I have been given the luxury of time and decision making. If I do surgery now, it per Dr. El Hamamsy it would be a very proactive approach. I am very active, I workout 6-7 days a week. I am turning 30 in a few months. I do not have kids but would like to someday. My biggest dilemma is * preserving my native valve longer, or * proactively fixing the problem with a procedure that may allow me a very active lifestyle and pregnancy possibilities.
