👏 Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my profile! As you may know, I am the heart valve surgery patient who started HeartValveSurgery.com in 2006. What’s my story? While I was very fortunate to have a great surgical outcome, I struggled with many parts of the patient journey. Before surgery, I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I didn’t know what my treatment options were. And I didn’t know which doctor or hospital to trust with my life. I also faced several challenges during my recovery, including pain management and cardiac depression, which happens to about 20% to 30% of heart surgery patients. For these reasons, I started HeartValveSurgery.com to educate and empower patients. Now, 20 years later, this website has helped more than 10 million people from the moment they are diagnosed through recovery. I also created the online Community at HeartValveSurgery.com to help patients and their support groups connect with, learn from, and support each other. With thousands of members, this online Community is helping people all over the world navigate their heart valve surgery experience. I’m very happy about that. Again, it’s great to have you here!
