About Me (In My Own Words)
In the spring of 2025, I had an odd feeling ended up in the Emergency room with heart rate of 220 bpm. Felt so weird, they restarted my heart to try to get to sinus ryhtem and thankfully after 30 minutes I got there. I was admitted to the hospital and after further testing, found my mitral regurgitation became severe with Barlow valve. I had mitral valve replacement in May 2025, along with atriclip, PFO closure, and MAZE. Open heart surgery was the recommended option due to all the issues that needed to be fixed. Thankfully, they fixed everything. I stayed in the hospital 10 days, have completed cardiac rehab and am on my way to full recovery.
