Happy birthday. Just back from a 3 hour trip up north to Woburn mass, coming from shadows neurology appt. It was a consult. I was armed with all the data from his 4 seizures. She was not overly concerned about the quantity or his seizure time length. 2 minutes is a short duration ( unless you are there its the longest 2 minutes i ever spent) She would be more concerned if he was having them weekly or monthly and longer than 2 minutes. Her best guess is epilepsy but its a matter of ruling out everything else as there is no epilepsy test. She gave us some medication that has to be injected up his rectum but only if his seizure lasts 4-5 minutes. Like an enema. Doing that in the midst of a seizure sounds like a cluster but if we need it, we need it. We welcome any heart warriors willing to do the deed. Plus we need to monitor future seizures and go back if they increase in number or duration. We liked her knowledge, her demeanor, and she did not push a bunch of unnecessary tests on us.

So you and shadow have something in common. Both meeting a neurosurgeon next
week. We will discuss his seizures. Prayers for you both. Tomorrow i get my prostate biopsy which is never a pleasant experience. No doubt i will be wiped out most of the day. We just found out our regular vet who is only 62 years old and has treated our dogs for over 25 years, has lou Gehrigs disease. A year ago he just opened his own practice and now this. Very sad. Fabulous vet and great person.

Well, yesterday i visited the veterans home with a couple of framed pictures of 2 residents in wheelchairs that posed with me in front of my car at their annual car show saturday. I posted the pictures here. Both over 90. Lots of expected red tape just getting in the door but i managed to fast talk my way into the lobby. Salesmanship 101. I ended up leaving them with a VA employee who said he knew who they were. Will they reach their destination ? Who knows , but i drove home hoping for the best, with a smile on my face. Some of these angry people clogging the nightly news with protest signs should experience the satisfaction i felt hopefully bringing a little joy to a wounded warrior. That warrior by the way fought to preserve their right to march. Probably too much to ask.

Ana, my last major car show of the year at the bristol rhode island veterans home is today. Any local heart warriors should stop by. Free admission, good food and music by johnny angel. Last year was rained out but it looks sunny and mild today. These are our nations true warriors and it always warms my heart to see the smiles on some faces that probably don’t get to enjoy every day to the fullest, which their sacrifices have allowed us to do. It makes my mitral valve surgery seem trivial when you see missing limbs. I will dedicate this years show to kimberlys speedy recovery. I will take a picture or 2 hopefully. I always pray for no mishaps over and back.

Rose Madura When I saw the Vietnam Memorial in DC (twice) I was surprised as t my emotions. Very sobering and somber. Once I saw a man touching a name and his children were taking a picture. It was obviously a son that had died. That was the war I grew up with so I seem to cry a lot at things like that. Here in Dayton at the WPAFB museum, they have a video that shows the freedom flight. I cry every time I see it. Anyway, you look fabulous Richard! As does the Olds. 👍

Fidel Martínez Ruiz Richard, you look great in the veterans convention. Despite of being abroad, It touch my soul thinking about Vietnam war, which I only know by newspapers and moovies. Our generation here was lucky not to have suffered through the war. Not so our parents who did suffer a lot throught the Spanish Civil War. It was terrible, half of Spain fighting against the other. May God save us from another.

When i was 16 i got a tattoo of my name on my arm. I still recall my mother fainting. The gash i refer to went right through the middle of it. I now have 2 names, neither is legible. The good news is that the oldsmobile logo i had tattooed to my other arm just before my ohs, is still looking good. Nancy fainted when she saw that one.
