Hope you had a great day! You're probably munching on ice chips right now! How wonderful of your siblings to join you! Try to enjoy their company while you're walking your laps around the nurses station. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Just scheduled my triple valve surgery for June 25 at Cleveland clinic with Dr. Gillinov. I am told that it must be the traditional sternotomy (I was hoping for robotic assist/less invasive option - but not for my multiple valves, so I am told). I live in Arizona, so major... Read more.

For triple, you'd certainly want the sternotomy. I am also a CC alum from Nov 2023... Best of luck - ask away any questions !!

I had triple valve surgery 10 years ago. A sternotomy will allow the surgeons to see everything in there.

Adam's forum is by far the best forum for heart surgery. My mom found it for me... You probably already saw it but check out the learning center on this website. Are you in Afib all the time ONLY after the R&L catherization? Or maybe you were in Afib before... Read more.

This is a great forum. In my opinion keyhole surgery is the way forward [as with many other types of operation]. It's more expensive and complicated, but the recovery time is much shorter
