About Me

Old age has taken its toll on my valves. I'm 75 and my aortic valve and mitral valve needed to be replaced Also needed my tricuspid valve repaired. And they added an appendage clip to hopefully stop my afib. Hospital recovery went okay. Then when I got home I developed pleural effusion on my left side. It covered almost my whole lung! My pulmonologist said there was about 6 liters of fluid around my lung. It took them three times of draining to finally almost clear it out. There's still a small amount left….but that will probably stay there. My lung never opened fully after the draining. They said that may never open all the way. It's stuck! I'm learning to live with it. It's only uncomfortable when I breathe in deeply! Oh well! At least I can still breathe! Thank you Jesus.
