A year ago today, I received the gift of a mended heart! Grateful to Dr. Gillinov, the Cleveland Clinic, family, and friends who supported me so well before, during and after. I'm especially thankful for Adam and the cheerleaders in this group who gave me such hope and encouragement. Life is full and busy again and I am filled with gratitude.

Happy to report that I was moved from ICU into Step Down yesterday less than 24 hours after my surgery concluded. Grateful to Dr. Marc Gillinov and the entire Cleveland Clinic team for their excellent care, and to all in this community for your support and encouragement as I waited l for my surgery date. I expect to be moving around more today as I begin the recovery phase. I couldn’t have done it without you!

Hello, it’s Susan -- Ginny's daughter -- here to share good news. My mother had her surgery in Cleveland today and I am pleased to report that she is doing well. Her talented surgeon, Dr. Marc Gillinov, reported that the repair of her mitral valve, tricuspid valve, and maze procedure went well. After long day in surgery and sleeping in ICU, she is awake now. Her voice is weak, and she will remain in ICU for now, but she wanted me to let her friends on this site know she is doing well. This community has been very supportive and made such a positive difference in her heart journey. I hope she feels up to posting the next update herself, but if she wants my assistance I will be back. Thank you to everyone here who helped take such great care of my wonderful mother.
