About Me

I've always had a heart murmur. And my GP told me many people have one and not to worry. Feeling my heart skip a beat was normal for me. Then June 2020 I went to a new GP because i was so tired (especially after exercise) and out of breath easily. I thought i was anemic. Well after doing an EKG she sent me to a cardiologist who diagnosed me with Mitral Valve Prolapse and Regurgitation. The regurgitation was causing my left atrium to become enlarged. He suggested i go on BP medication. The meds helped my intense palpitations and breathyness subside. But i began having dizzy spells because my blood pressure was so low. So during the summer of 2021 i sought a consultation with another cardiologist who after more testing recommended surgery. I hadn't known that Mitral Valve Repair is the gold standard of treatment. So after educating myself and finding a surgeon i am moving forward and going to get the blood in my heart moving forward instead of backward!!!
