I got a lot of questions at cardiac rehab.. one woman said to me when she saw me with a monitor.."oh you're one us" you look way too young..so I whipped out the scar.." glad you're doing well enough to go shopping!

Phyllis Petersen I almost killed a couple of shoppers my first couple of times driving one of those, and yes, tons of people were giving me dirty looks. Since I had side entry, I couldn't even show the scar. It helped that my brother-in-law was there pulling the stuff from the shelves for those first couple of weeks.

Apparently my family says i went right to my face to try and pull out so when I finally became awake completely i noticed my arms were strapped down. Lol! Good News all arteries and Veins clear as day!👍Thursday after Cardiac Cath. And Pre-Op, Boy am i glad that's over, would have been nice if prior to putting me on table they explained they were doing 1 Catheter thro my neck!😩 no mention whatsoever!

Gerald Poulton I agree Michelle, not only did they not tell me what to expect, they didnt even offer a sedative. But at the end ir wasnt as bad as I thought it would be and like you all arteries clear👍 That is a big deal, not sure if you are symptomatic but I wasnt and that was a reason why, also if your arteries are clear now they should remain that way and that is real good news. It also makes the surgery a lot faster and less time on the heart and lung bipass machine is the best news. Congrats 👍

Linda Richards Your story sounds like mine. Having moved a lot I was way over due for a doctors apt. Went to a new one and she said, OH, you have a loud heart murmur. 3 months I was having surgery but mine was minimal invasive. Big cut under my right boob.
You look too young and healthy ... I'm 54 now, surgery will be 3 years on March 3. I'm 120 lbs now but have never been over weight. Work out and vegetarian for 25 years. Go figure.

Bridget Supple Hey, Michelle, this was my favorite quote, too! It reminded me so much of something my mom would have said, she was so down to earth. Hang in there, you will be fine. Honestly, I had myself so worked up before surgery. Afterwards, I wondered what the heck my problem was. I won't say it was the easiest thing I've ever done, but it was certainly not the drama I had built it up to be in my head. Out of ICU in one day and the hospital three days later. Was on Tylenol by Day Two. The worst thing that happened was I threw up in ICU and that hurt like crazy! Take care and try not to worry about it. Everything will be alright!
