About Me

August 21, went to the ER for chest pain. At the subsequent follow up September 1, I asked for a referral for a second opinion. On September 29, I went to the St. Vincent Heart Center where the doctor reviewed the prior month's tests. He said they replace valves when the stenosis is at 1.0cm, mine is 0.7 and ordered three tests for the following week: another echo to take measurements, CT of chest, abdomen, pelvic, and catheterization. The good news, those tests showed healthy veins and no damage to the heart muscle. However, the tests found the valve stenosis to be more severe and an aortic aneurysm. Three days later, the surgery was scheduled for October 30. St Vincent doctors have been very responsive to my email questions and calls. However, this site has been a blessing! The people's personal and individual stories and the positive answers to questions are extremely helpful, comforting, and informative. Thank you Adam for creating this site! Thanks everyone for the community!
