I had my mitral valve repaired along with a maze procedure in Portland, ME in May, 2017. I had treatment for left sided breast cancer 9 years ago & the radiation I received caused some damage to my mitral valve leaflets. I found out about my mitral valve regurgitation after going to the er for afib. 2 years after my surgery I feel great & am pretty active, hiking in summer, skiing in winter.
