Good morniing everyone. It is my 3rd year heart anniversary today for bicuspid. I had a mechanical valve and Bentall procedure. It is hard to believe 3 years have passed by already. I am doing good. Adam this site has been amazing. ❤️

Yeah! Congratulations Shelly. So glad to hear you are doing well! I'm on my third year as well. Having a few problems recently with my INR but otherwise I'm doing well.
Thank you. Erin I hope your INR gets better. Mine hovers around 1.7. They extended our range. It now is 1.5 to 2.5. I appreciate the messages.

Hi Everyone today is my 2 year Heart Anniversary. Hard to believe 2 years have passed since my open heart surgery with the mechanical valve and the Bentall procedure for bicuspid. All seems to be going good.
Congratulations, on two years, Shelly! Cheering you on towards many more!

Is it common after open heart surgery has been 1 1/2 years doctor wants me to do blood work, CT, and echo? I hate CT's. They also found giant cell in my cut out bicuspid valve. I had Bentall procedure and mechanical valve. They want to look at blood vessels... Read more.

Shelly, I'm sorry you needing more tests. Unfortunately, sometimes our recovery has setbacks. As my cardiologist once said, once a heart patient, always a heart patient. It sounds like they may suspect an aneurysm. How was this found? I will be praying or you. 🙏
Hi Rose thank you. No they just said it is a check to make sure all is functioning good. I did not realize they checked it out again. I thought I was done. It is Mayo Clinic so I guess they want to be thorough. And since they found giant... Read more.
Just reading this today, I have had yearly tests since my surgery as they want to see the valve is still working properly. 6 years now and they say it is functioning just as a natural valve. I will still have the yearly tests, echo etc. But my surgeon has... Read more.
