I have a 20 year old niece that just had a valve replacement surgery. She was very sick a week prior to this surgery and the doctors determined that she had a bacteria infection on her heart. Then they discovered her valve leaking and she was rushed to surgery on the 3rd day following this find. After surgery we were told that one valve was hanging by a thread basically and another had completely deteriared. Now she is doing much better but there is still the concern of the bateria infection. The doctors will continue to treat her for that. I said all this to ask… Is there any web cite that you know of that can give me information on any of this? Could the bacteria cause the valves to fall apart? Any information would be great |
