Amy, thank you so much for posting and describing the wait and journey. I am almost a year now since surgery was put on the table. It's rough at times.
Happy Anniversary!! My one year anniversary was 1/17. I had been seen Dr Accola but choose to go the NYC, Mount Sinai hospital because my children live in NJ and they provided a ton of support for both my wife and I. Best of health in the future!!!
Congratulations on your one year and good health! Thank you for sharing such positive news…it's so encouraging to those of us still in the "waiting room". 🙌🏻❤️

Hi - sharing a progress report for 8 weeks post op. I remember so well being on this site prior to surgery looking at everyone's posts and having trouble picturing what life would be like beyond surgery. For reference I will be 67 in April and don't have any significant... Read more.

AVR surgery was just 5 weeks ago. So thankful to Dr. Accola at AdventHealth Orlando and the surgical team who took care of me. I truly believe that my quick recovery has a lot to do with him only making a 4-5" mid-sternum incision instead. I'd highly recommend Dr. Accola... Read more.
