About Me (In My Own Words)
I had a BAV with severe AS and had a minimally invasive SAVR on 5/28/24 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in downtown St. Louis. Everything went great with the surgery.
Prior to my surgery, I had mild MR for several years. Immediately after the SAVR, my MR was still mild. I just had a one year echo follow-up, and now I have moderate to severe MR and a small pericardial effusion. I feel fine, so this was very shocking to me.
Not looking forward to what’s next and am back to the research phase.
