Website Update: Community Notification System Upgraded!
Many thanks to Phyllis and Catie for letting me know about the notification issue they recently experienced when using our Community!
As you may know, the "Notifications Tool" informs patients when other patients comment on previous posts. It's a really neat tool we created to help patients stay in-touch and learn from each other specific to heart valve topics. If you haven't seen it before, please see below for a picture of the Notifications Tool drop-down.
The recent challenge with the notifications system is that the database managing that feature has become humongous over the years. Our servers were having problems processing all the notices correctly.
Well... I am happy to report that we were able to enhance the speed and the functionality of the Notifications Tool. In addition, we also updated the "Marked as Read" feature as well as the "Thumbnail" in the notifications drop-down. We also enhanced the speed to see your notifications list.
We're still making a few adjustments to the system. But, the Notifications Tool is now working much, much, much better than before.
