For seven weeks after my aortic valve replacement, miraculously, Beebee seemed to know not to come and lie in his place on my chest. Suddenly, he decides that I am healed enough to creep up and snuggle in. Another little milestone!

Mary sounds like your healing is going well. My husband had an AVR done in April and has recovered well. I noticed you didn't mention any blood thinners? We are working with two 'natural' doctors in Houston along with my husbands cardiologist to greatly reduce his Coumadin and hopefully stop... Read more.

Susan, I have a bovine valve. No blood thinners needed except two baby aspirin daily. I am thrilled with my recovery after such a major surgery.

Boy, nothing says "relaxation" like a big old orange cat sacked out. Looks like Beebee is telling you you're all better now!

I guess I will be seeing you in the hallways of the cardiac unit some time after my surgery on June 18th since Dr. Svensson is also doing my mechanical valve and aortic graft at CC :) wishing you the best with your surgery!

I'm also having similar symptoms of increased shortness of breath with minimal exertion, palpitations, and fatigue. Today was my last day at work for 7 weeks and I'm leaving to Ohio on Monday afternoon.
