I've known I have a heart murmur since age 13. At age 50, I found out I have a bicuspid aortic valve that has to be replaced due to aortic stenosis.
Update: I had my bicuspid aortic valve replaced with a bovine tissue valve on Oct. 31, 2014. I also had an aortic root enlargement with a Dacron patch.
