Today was a painful day for me! Chest/sternum pain. Why? Because yesterday I changed the sheets on the beds in my house!
Thought it would be okay but boy was I wrong. The stretching, reaching and pulling was way too much. I'm 7 weeks post op and do

Yes, you did too much too soon so think that was a sign to take it more easy. I know my chest muscles got sore until about week 9. You will be amazed once you start cardiac rehab how much stronger you will become.

I'm sorry to hear that Maryann. It's easy to forget that you're recovering from major surgery when you're feeling so good, but try to take it easy. My house wasn't perfect during my recovery, but the housecleaning did get done eventually. Take care!

We had a small group in for my husbands birthday this morning. It was fun but when they left I slept for three hours. I am six weeks post surgery and clearly not quite 100%. It takes time and patience , that's for sure!

I did some Laundry Monday and Tuesday and then suffered for it. I'm 4 weeks post op. Today I'm feeling pretty well.

I'm 11 weeks out from OHS and I still pace myself. I can do many things, but limit the length of time as my sternum and chest become sore. I can honestly say, it gets better every week. I didn't see progress every day, but did see progress every 3... Read more.

Thank you Louanns. Yes, it gets better every week but I'm not as patient with myself as I should be.
I am so thrilled that I lived and did so well. My surgeon was fantastic. Hospital team was wonderful but when I was discharged they said "now go home and... Read more.

Today. 10 dayspost op. Feeling fairly good. Still sleeping in the recliner. Taking short walks😊

I remember feeling very weak after surgery but in a couple of weeks you will feel much stronger.
