About Me

I had Mitral Valve repair with a steronomy. Bi Atrial Maze procedure, ligation of left atrial appendage. I originally thought I would have a minimally invasive approach. Didn't work out as they found I had cysts on my liver. They didn't want to mess with my liver. They looked into the possibility of repairing the Tricuspid Valve and it stopped leaking once they repaired my Mitral Valve. I was told I had a heart murmur when I was a child. I've been on medication for my heart since the year 2000. I been having echo cardiograms just about every year since. I recently went into A-fib. Had to go to the hospital and had a cardio version. I am now taking blood thinners and some other new medications. My cardiologist said it would be a good time to get my valve repaired. Before I have a repeat episode and damage to my heart. My left atrium is dilated and I have severe regurgitation of the mitral valve. I have other valves leaking also. I was told the other valves are normal and should stop leaking when my mitral valve is repaired.
