Nancy LeClair Gottlieb Thanks Rob. I like my surgeon but he also goes to Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland about every 6 weeks. I had my surgery canceled that week on a Monday because they had to do a heart transplant. I had to done on the Friday of the same week.

Hi Nancy! Glad you made it through the surgery okay and that your recovery is coming along and progressing well. My mitral valve surgery is scheduled for November 19. It is comforting to know that others such as yourself have gone through it and are getting better. Best wishes for a complete and full recovery!

Hi Nancy, so glad your surgery is over and you are now home. The PT will work wonders in helping you to regain your strength. Try to arrange for a visiting nurse to come to the house two-three times a week to check your incision, your blood pressure, etc. Speak to the hospital's Social Services Department. Good luck!

Hi Nancy, So glad to see that you are post op and all is well.... except for the bra issue 😊. I am over 6 years out from my open heart. Aorta aneurism and bicuspid aorta valve. Ouch! I also have Mitral prolapse but not bad enough for surgery at this point. But what I found that helped me tremendously was the Ahh Bra. You step into it so no major arm lifting and it gives with every movement. Lots of colors too!! Continue on your road to great health and the very best to you.

Good luck, Nancy. I had the same surgery four weeks ago today. I had no Afib or other symptoms but the repair was recommended. I'm glad I did it. The first day was pretty rough but I've been getting stronger every day. You will do the same, I"m sure. Richard Buckley

Once surgery is behind you just take it one day at a time. Keep us posted when you are in the step down unit from ICU.

Hi Nancy, I am cheering you on! I will be thinking of you on the day of your surgery and you will be in my prayers. Get the heart surgery over with before the left ventricle becomes dilated any further. Be strong! Just remember, when you wake up the risk will be over.
