Yes - I did consider a mechanical valve. My experience with the Edwards Inspiris Resilia has all been great. I've actually had personal best 5K race times the last 2 weekends. I'm faster now than I was prior to surgery.

Thanks Fidel, I'm 55 so seem to be in the age group where there is no firm recommendation. I was thinking the On-X but now feel the Edwards tissue because I don't think I'll cope well with the ticking or thinners. Hopefully I go a bit longer before I need... Read more.

Yes, Simon, you have the advantage of being able to go longer to surgery. Then, you can go to a biological from the last ones, which allow even to put other "valve in valve" via catheter, but 30 years after the first replacement, if the first wear out. Good prospects,... Read more.
