Introducing HeartValveSurgery 6.0: The Next Generation of Patient Education & Empowerment

As part of our 20^th anniversary celebration, I'm pleased to share that HeartValveSurgery.com has taken a significant step forward in its evolution. This morning, we launched the sixth generation of our platform which we believe is the most advanced set of technologies for patient education, empowerment and connectivity.

What's New in HeartValveSurgery.com 6.0?

To help you learn about the new features and services in HVS 6.0 platform, here are the key components of the new platform:

Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem: Over the past 4 years, we have made significant investments for the development of a novel artificial intelligence ecosystem. The new platform deploys patient-facing AI - including heart valve chatbots and mobile apps. Plus, a deeper integration with backend AI workflow (like AI telephony) to support patients during their unique journeys – from diagnosis to recovery.
Enhanced Patient Experience and New Educational Tools: HVS 6.0 delivers meaningful improvements to the patient experience, including individualized education, high-velocity page speeds, and expanded cross-device engagement. For example, we rolled out over 20 new features in our online Community for patients. Plus, I'm happy to announce the release of our Interventional Cardiology Finder and our Congenital Heart Valve Disease Education Center.
Algorithmic Educational Architecture: To help educate patients, we developed a novel content distribution system that harnesses an algorithm architecture capable of delivering contextual, geolocated and time-stamped information based upon the patient's disease and therapeutic process. With this new algorithmic approach, we really are wrapping the patient in a digital blanket of educational support.
Unified Cloud-Based Code: For the first time, all content and programmatic functions across HVS are powered by a single, unified code base in a global, cloud environment. This milestone was achieved by integrating eight discrete frameworks, 92 thousand lines of updated code and 80,000 content pages into a streamlined, modern architecture that positions us for rapid development and scale.
Strengthened Security Infrastructure: In response to evolving HIPAA and regulatory requirements, we have significantly hardened our security framework. The platform now operates with advanced controls to ensure patient privacy and data protection. Notably, the new HVS platform received HIPAA attestation from an independent third-party auditor – in advance of this release – back on March 22, 2026.

Collectively, these enhancements position the HeartValveSurgery.com community for innovation, scalability and, most importantly, happy patients that get excellent outcomes. It's important to note, the implementation of this platform has been seamless. All HVS users including patients, their care partners and sponsors have not experienced any disruption or noticeable interface changes during the transition. So far, no downtime has occurred.

Needless to say, we are incredibly excited about this next chapter and we deeply appreciate your partnership in helping us serve and empower patients around the world.

And... While we're excited about these enhancements, we're not done yet. Coming soon, we plan to launch several new features - including direct messaging and live chat functionality - to help patients connect with one another in even more meaningful ways.
