Adam — Thank you for both your blog and book. They were very helpful during my recovery after bypass and mitral valve repair surgery last year. In fact, I have shared your book with two other patients since. Adam, I am wondering if there are any resources detailing the recovery process for very young children who have had open heart surgery. I direct a child care program; and, we have a two-and-a-half year old child who had open heart surgery this past June. While his physical recovery appears to be strong, his emotional adjustment has been more challenging than typical. I well remember how fragile my emotional state of being was 3 months after surgery, do young children experience similar struggles on their road back from surgery? How can we best help this toddler and his mom over the next several months? Gary
