Susan Lynn Thomas - I am sorry to read your news. I am not versed on aneurysms, so I can't provide you with any meaningful advice. I can only suggest that you consult a progressive surgeon and heart facility. No doubt, you're wondering as am I, why they weren't identified and repaired in August during your aortic valve replacement. I wish you the best of luck.

Catie B Hi Thomas. That is some disappointing news. Like you, I had an ascending aneurysm repaired with my valve surgery--I'm so sorry you're facing new issues!
I want to be sure I'm tracking with you. If I understand correctly, they've now found aneurysms in your descending aorta? (You mentioned your aortic valve--I hope your actual valve is doing well.) Have they said where the aorta (blood vessel) is enlarged, in your chest or abdomen or both?
I'd be looking to confer with the most experienced surgeon available for his/her opinion on monitoring these, timing, etc. One thing I'd ask is, are there special concerns from there being three of them?
I'm sure they'll want your blood pressure to stay well controlled. I'd want to ask whether there are any limits for physical activity and forms of exercise, lifting, etc.
This can't be easy on you emotionally, after so recently going through surgery. My heart goes out to you! Yet I'm super thankful they've identified them! I hope you'll keep us posted.

Sue Waterworth Hello Thomas. Just a year older than me, and I had an aortic valve replacement on 16th July, so just a few weeks ahead of you. And generally, I'm progressing really well. The waiting is the hardest part, but you're almost there. Soon you'll be on the other side and heading to wellness again. Focus on plans for afterwards.

Bonnie Stone-Hope Hello Thomas,
Wishing you successful surgery and easy recovery.
Do not waste any energy on anxiety.
My advice is to do your breathing exercises everyday. Breathe in and out, in and out, and again:)
Sue Tom Thomas, sending you best wishes for a successful surgery and a smooth recovery.
