Good morning. I hope everyone had a great memorial weekend. I have a question for the group. I am almost 8 weeks out from minimally invasive mitral valve repair. Everything had been going well. I had been doing some light exercise and feeling good. Two weeks ago my heart started... Read more.
Sorry to hear - does the relation of murmur to heart rate imply that it not a still leaking mitral valve? Could it be a new mitral leak? My cardiologist told me the tricuspid murmur is heard from a different spot - and I don't know if that is true... Read more.
Do not worry, you are doing well. Murmur is defined by many tests and not by sense.
Good question, Marie. Mine was barely detectable except under exertion. It's possible to have a murmur after surgery. As long as it's mild, there's nothing to worry about. Please keep us posted.
The echocardiogram will be a regular echocardiogram. If normal, we will have to do a stress echocardiogram.
Normal resting echocardiogram. I meet with cardiology tomorrow. Hopefully, we will set up a stress echo.

Came home from the hospital yesterday. My Surgery was April 1st. Feeling pretty good. Some pain in the chest from surgery. The nerve block is still working so we will see how it feels when it wears off. Walked around the block. I had to stop twice and rest but... Read more.

That's amazing. Congratulations. It was a few days before I could get off my street.
Welcome to recovery. Continued good health and God bless you 🙏❤️
Congrats and good luck with your recovery! Patience is not easy, but it's important (as I'm still learning 2 months post op).
I just saw that you also had Dr. Chikwe — she's the best!! (And Vivian ❤️) Did you have robotic surgery? Mine was Feb. 4. I'm finally feeling really good now. Wishing you all the best!
It sounds like you are recovering well. But take it easy for the next 3 months. Don't overdue lifting and other things that put stress on your chest even if you feel great.

Day two post surgery. I have to keep the chest tube in another day. Otherwise, the pain is pretty well controlled. Hopefully, I get the chest tube removed tomorrow and then I can go home.
Wow, you are doing great to be posting already! Welcome to recovery!!
Doing great! I hope the tube is out now, you will be a lot more comfortable ❤️
You will feel better once the chest tube is removed. Glad all is well.
