After a one day delay I am finally wearing my On-X mechanical valve. Surgery was smooth after a 2.5 hour delay with the insertion of the prostate cather. First post op night was spent sleeping well.....one hour at a time. Have no idea why sleep sessions were so short. Had... Read more.

So glad your surgery went well. I'm 3 weeks post op and the pain is better but still get tired easy. B but each day is a gift and it gets better each day too. Take it easy and let others do got you.

Larry, Dr. Ryan was my surgeon for a mitral valve repair Dec. 2014....he is great, as is Heart Hospital Plano. Praying for your continued recovery!

Change in surgery date. Surgeon's office called late this afternoon and informed me that due to an emergency surgery all of his scheduled surgeries the rest of the week were being moved one day later. My pre-op date is now April 6th and new surgery date is April 7th. Could... Read more.

Larry, prayers to you for a full recovery. I am also waiting for surgery & it can be unnerving at times. All the research to make sure we are making the right choices, etc...Very thankful for this site & the great inspiring stories of recovery & information shared!
