Hello to all! My recovery is going well and rehab is over and I start a new job Tuesday. Keeping my fingers crossed. I haven't had a paycheck since March. I'm so excited! I don't remember if I posted this but I was able to achieve 15% on the treadmill at 2.8 mph before my appendix surgery got me, Which also turned out well as the cancer hadn't gotten out of my appendix yet. To all who have been and are recovering, And the ones waiting for surgery. Take HEART! I feel better than I have in years. This leaves me with 12 stents,3 angioplasty and a double by pass. Keep your head up and praise God as I will always pray for heart patients. I think we are special! Bless you.
Hello group, Tomorrow I finish my rehab, 3 months! Wasn't all easy but I got thru it ok. I wish y'all smooth sailing and the knowledge that though this is scary it can be done and you can have a better life. I'm living proof. Prayers out to all of you.
I finally have my dates striaghr, I had OHS on 5-22. Been a heck of a ride. I've come so far since then. To everyone who is fixing to go in and those who have been in, Take it easy and not worry. Put your trust in God. I feel so much better now, It was well with all the things you go thru.
I graduate rehab on the 20th of this month. Two and half months since by pass. Had my appendix removed week and half back. They found goblet cell carcinoid. Rare from of cancer. Have a colonoscopy on the 24 th as the docs couldn't tell if the cancer was confined to my appendix. Should be a cake walk compared to the last 2 and 1/2 months. To everyone just out of or going in for heart surgery , God bless y'all . It is do able.
Today is 2 mo since my double by pass. Praise God I'm alive and doing well. I'm having no problems with the surgerie all is well inside, no pain or side affects other than the rehab. It's for real, I come sore and it has made me realize how out of shape I am. I'm one month into rehab and at the end of my 2 months I'm going to continue to work out. I believe the surgery would have been easier and I know the rehab would. To everyone keep your head up, it does get better .
Don't know what happened but I feel out of bed last night and landed on my chest! Little uncomfortable. My wife said I've been talking and floping for a couple of weeks. This is new for me, Is anyone else doing this?
Two months out of surgery now, Four more weeks in rehab and feel good on the inside. Other than the aches and pains from the actual surgery I feel good. I'm able to walk at 9% grade on the treadmill now and have uped the load limit on the other machines I use. As you know I have 12 stents and if I had a do over I'd have went straight for the bypass. But we all know about hindsight. My hats off to y'all who've had to what awhile for your surgery, I had only a three day wait thank God! I'm still praying for all of us.
I've got four weeks of rehab left before I begin job searching. I live in waxahachie tx. My latest experience was facility coordinator, and shipping coordinator. If any one has any leads please share with me. I also have a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsement. Thanks
Hello everyone, My prayers go out to everyone doing or having heart repair done. Mine is going well but I'd like for it to go faster. The physical part is ok, I'd like the mental to catch up. Thinking more of my wife than me. I'd like the energy to go with her, I've only done 3 weeks of rehab. I know it's getting better but I think it's as hard if not harder on her. Just want to point out that our spouse/caregiver Is going thru the same things we are. May God bless us all.
I got to my cardio doc tomorrow for my 1 mo check up. X-rays and consultation. Hopefully I'll find out why I seem to going backwards, On pain, coughing , And my voldyne 5000. A breathing machine you suck on to float a ball inside. I'm unable to maintain the levels I've obtained without coughing and pain. In spite of this I feel better now than before the surgery.
Hello all! Glad to be here with y'all . Six weeks out now. Thank God. Doing pretty good, but I have to ask. Is anyone else finding themselves taking 3 hr nap? Is this normal? Feel decent most of the time and still working rehab. My mind is still working sharp which is a blessing since I wasn't doing good before surgery. Just out of the blue I need/ take a nap. Various lengths of time. Happy Fourth!!
In my third week of rehab. It's tough, just when it's starts to level out they increase the wrk load. I feel better, what I would give for some good sleep. Doc appt on July 9. To all of us we CAN do this and have a safe fourth.
