With Greg's permission I am posting on his behalf to give you an update. This is his wife. I am on this website as much as he is checking on the progress you are all making after your OHS. Greg had OHS #5 for double valve replacement on December 21, 2018. He is now almost 12 weeks post op and really does feel great. He says he feels guilty sometimes after he reads some of your updates. He will be off his Coumadin this Friday and will remain on Aspirin, Metropolol, and Licinopril. He was in good cardiovascular shape leading up to this surgery and I believe that has helped his healing and recovery a lot. He has been back to the gym pretty much 5 days a week since week 6. Just 20-30 minutes at first doing light cardio then working his way up to about 45-60 min. No weight lifting just yet and he is patiently waiting to swing a golf club. Next weekend (weather permitting) he has planned a big golf weekend as his cardiologist gave him permission after 12 weeks. When you are feeling up to it, do whatever you can to get out of the house and be active. You may not feel like you have a lot of energy the first few weeks but I have watched Greg get stronger and stronger every week. If you are the wife / husband or caregiver - KUDDOS to you too!
