Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since my mitral valve repair. Crazy how fast the time flies. 2 days after getting home I purchased a Fitbit "Sense" watch. It's been an awesome addition to my recovery. It shows my pulse rate; steps; sleep and I can run and ECG anytime. I... Read more.
What a great report Dorothea. May you continue to have good health and feel great.

Dr Trento did the procedure yesterday afternoon at Cedars Sinai Hospital. It was very successful. They moved me out of ICU a couple hours ago. Good luck, Dorothea! Waiting is the worst part of the process, but you're in good hands with Dr. Trento - he's known around the world for his expertise! You probably won't be awake for long in the OR, I was out in a matter of seconds when I had my... Read more.
Hi Dorothea, just a note to wish you well tomorrow. You'll be fine and it will feel so good to be on the road to recovery! Special prayers and every good wish.
Hi Dorothea, best wishes on your surgery. Regarding laying in OR, they had given me a light sedative before I went into the OR which helped a lot. Also, the awake time on OR was minimal for me. I was probably awake for maybe 5 minutes in the OR. They... Read more.
Thank you all so much. I'll be very glad to have this all over. Adam was right, joining this group helps tremendously.
You are almost there! As for the OR…. you might not even see the OR. Ha! About all I can remember is them checking me in and getting the IVs in place. I can remember talking with the chaplain and my husband, and after that…nothing. The surgeon had told me... Read more.
