I just turned 62. I have had Mitral Valve Prolapse as far back as I can remember. About 8 years ago my regurgitation became severe. We've been on a wait and see for the past 7 years but my new Cardiologist has wanted me to go see the surgeon. I decided it is time since my heart is starting to enlarge. I reached out to Dr. Trento because he is an expert in Robotic Mitral Repair. I'm anxious about having the surgery but know my quality of life will get worse if I don't. So far I've been asymptomatic or so I think. Hard to tell if you've just lived with it for so long. I guess I'll tell after surgery :)
