Came home today after 4 nights after AVR. My surgeon chose a Corcym carbomedics tophat mechanical valve. That first shower feeling is incredible.

Tomorrow is the big day! How did/does anyone sleep the night before? Lol.
I met my team on Monday during pre-op appointments. I was reminded multiple times how attentive and great my surgeon, Dr. Razzouk is. His assistant told me he will watch me for an hour after the procedure to make sure all is well before personally taking me up to ICU. Feeling really blessed to have him.

Robert Miller I hope all went well. How did you sleep? I didn't like getting up at 4am and not being able to eat and drink anything before the surgery (I cheated and took a very(!) small sip of water and rinsed my mouth so my tongue didn't feel that dry). Otherwise it was all good. What helped is that 1) I knew I was in great hands and 2) it could only get better from here.
