Thomas Quigley Sunday was a rough day. I had very bad reactions to some medicines that caused me to gag and wretch the whole day plus I had hallucinations. I thought people were in my room when no one was. Nurses came in my room and asked me where I was, what my name is, what the name of the hospital was etc etc. apparently I couldn’t give them the answers they were looking for. Plus if I moved, I got the dry heaves, if anyone touched me I got the dry heaves. And Jerome, I know you must know what that felt like with that 3 day old sternotomy incision! No fun! Monday was a little better, and today Tuesday morning they pulled my drainage tubes. So I am making progress! How do you feel?

Jennifer Barnett Gosh that's a bit rough alright, I hope you feel better soon. On day 3 of my surgery I was sick and dry reaching from the morphine they reduced the dose but it made no difference. After being offered several other pain meds I opted for just panadol knowing it would not make me sick. I improved after that slowly but surely. Take it easy you will continue to improve.

Lee Wright Day2-3 were my worst, I stopped taking all pain meds aside from Tylenol/Toradol due to my low blood pressure but I think the gagging I had once was probably due to the morphine after night 1. I really hope that now that you are off the hard meds, all that goes away!!! I think you are through the worst of it!!

At the hospital with my wife. Waiting to be prepped. They are allowing one visitor a day starting yesterday. So that’s a bit reassuring!

Thomas Quigley It is. It motivates me to get better so I can get back out there! And the thing is, I like to run back there all by myself, so I can't do that again if i'm not in tip top shape! My road back begins October 8th, surgery day.
