About Me

Little did I know that my journey started 27 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. My OB doctor noticed a heart murmur and sent my to have an Echocardiogram done. That was when I was diagnosed with a Bicuspid Aortic Valve. I was young and active and choose to ignore it. It was during the summer of 2015 that I started to notice something was wrong. I wasn't able to exercise or run like I had been doing. I was constantly out of breath and chest pressure that wouldn't go away. I waited until January 2016 to see a cardiologist and to have another Echocardiogram. At my follow-up appointment I was told that I need to have my aortic valve replaced. Wow! what a shock!
