Celebrating 12 weeks post AVR today with a long beach walk with the pooch. I felt great! Recovery has been up and down, but steadily better as the weeks past. I highly recommend cardiac rehab sessions once cleared following surgery.

Looking good Ted. Your pooch is beautiful. Continued good health and recovery. God bless you
Congrats on your 12 week Anniversary!! You look like you're doing great! I completely agree that cardiac rehab makes a big difference after surgery! There's a lot of life to live!! ❤
Love you and your pooch. You no doubt realize that your dog is your best therapy for recovery. Thankfully my wife does not read these but Cassie does.
Day 1 post surgery and feeling pretty good. Great experience with Dr. Argenziano and team at Columbia Presbyterian!!
Looking fabulous, Ted! Welcome to recovery!!!
You are even smiling!! I am impressed... Be patient with yourself through recovery.

Thanks all. Day 2 and a little more aches probably from aesthetics wearing off. BP a little low; but as expected. Got up for a walk around icu. Plan to go to step down later today.
Wow I barely even remember day 1. I'm so impressed. You are a warrior Ted!!
Way to go Ted....every day gets better and better. I'm 3 months out, back in the gym with moderate workouts and this morning discharged from cardiac rehab which make sure you do when the time comes! Great feeling having all behind you now, huh?
Congrats on being on the recovery side! I see you are a fellow Spartan! I hope you are able to enjoy the big game this weekend. Keep up the good work!

Light gym session today. T-minus 3 weeks until Dr. Argenziano @CUMC replaces my aortic valve. Trying to keep my mind in a positive place!

Welcome to our site Ted. I had the Bentall procedure, almost two years ago. What kind of valve are you going to get? I got the Bio and so far so good. I will be

Sorry, got cut off. I will be praying for your surgery to be successful and we will be here to welcome you into recovery. God bless you
Thanks Ana...It's gonna be a bioprosthetic valve along with a graft for the ascending aorta. The aortic root will be a decision by the doctor during the surgery. I've really appreciated this news feed and all the information and resources available on HVS. Kudos Adam!

I'm with you on this site. It was a lifesaver for me when I found out I needed OHS and since then.
I had a tissue aortic valve, ascending and root aneurysm replaced 4 years ago at age 63. The whole experience was not as bad as my worrying mind had made it out to be. Wishing you a smooth journey though surgery and recovery!
I know all will go well for you. It's so great you're getting some activity in the gym as it helps so much in staying positive.
I like everything about you Ted... Your posts... The awesome "thumbs up" photo you just shared. The inspiration you bring to this community... But, that shirt you're wearing causes me to doubt our friendship. Go Blue!!!!! Big game this weekend!!! Oh did I forget to mention.... Go Blue!!!! :)
Right on Adam. My goal is to get discharged before Saturday's game. Go geeen, go white
Lookin Good! Better days ahead. I'm 7 months post AVR mechanical; bypass x 2 and feeling great! God Bless!
