Last year I underwent aortic valve replacement surgery, receiving a mechanical On-X valve. The procedure was performed using a minimally invasive approach through an incision under the arm, rather than through a traditional full sternotomy. The recovery was very good, although it realistically took around three to four months before I felt fully recovered and back to my normal level of activity. Now, approximately one year later, I am feeling back to normal and doing very well. Overall, the surgery and recovery have been a very positive outcome.
