Wow… it’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a post. I still check each weekly’s news and updates. Life, well, has been life. I’m 10 years out since my surgery. About 5 years ago a newer aneurysm was found and I’d been seeing my cardiologist at Cleveland Clinic every 6 months up until my last appointment this spring.. he left it at a year. They’re waiting to make sure my aneurysm hasn’t grown… and to time my next surgery when my valve is in need of replacement. Timing is everything. I stay anxious about when that will be and the fears of another surgery. I can’t seem to make it go away. It was a bittersweet appointment as my cardiologist shared he’s retiring. He has been a constant these past almost 11 years. I’ve continued teaching. Kindergarten- and oh boy! There’s a kind of tired that resembles following surgery…😂. I just had my oldest graduate high school and they moved recently to live with their dad and begin a new chapter. I’m so happy for her but it’s a whole new territory for me. Thankfully my youngest still has a few more years left before graduation. I also went through some breast cancer scares this winter… hyperplasia- but it involved a lumpectomy and close monitoring for high risks. After a lengthy heart journey and all the testing and needs that should be overseen, having this breast cancer scare put it all in perspective. All of my heart care has thankfully been very streamline. I can’t say the same for the other…it has been very tedious, but my drs have been amazing. I also got married this past April… dreams do come true. I stayed in my home to finish the school year off and then we finally moved under the same roof beginning of summer. Summer has been spent unpacking and learning a new rhythm. I think of members here and the class of 2016 very often. I thank Adam for this space. One a heart warrior, always a heart warrior.
