Robyn Tatu Wow. That's picture is a little big. I wanted to share the scar because I am actually really proud of it. But I wasn't aware it was going to be so very-in-your-face!

Today is the 1st Birthday of my pig valve! I have not written in a while but I am doing great! I graduate from Cardiac Rehab tomorrow and then it's on to more sports rehab type physical therapy. I am getting stronger every day.

I don't need my cane any more!

I want to thank my heart brothers and sisters again for all the support they gave my husband during the long months last year and all the love and prayers and cards and well wishes sent to me. I am convinced it made a huge difference in my recovery.

Christine Oliva I got one those too! I'm nearly 6 months out and yea I would like a smaller scar, but I am feeling great. Today one of my coworkers was looked at me with a huge smile and said "Christine you look great, even younger, your checks are such a great color and you don't look tired anymore, you really did the right thing." I don't think she was pulling my leg because she is usually very quiet and it seemed so genuine. I guess it is all part of the process of recovery recognizing your journey and being more appreciative of places, things, events, support and people now. It looks like you have completed your process and looking forward to the future with a healthy and open heart. Good luck and peace in the rest of your journey.

Robyn Tatu THANKFUL
Thanks to all of our Heart Valve family for their support earlier this year. Your good wishes, posts, and prayers helped David thorough a horrible time -

I know they helped me get to this Thanksgiving.

I saw my surgeon on Tuesday who broke up with me. He says I don't have to see him any longer. He says my heart is functioning at 100%. and when we need to replace this valve (15 years we hope.) they can go through my groin. Yay! I finally get to start cardiac rehab within the next week or so.

I made Pad Thai noodles for Thanksgiving and played some board games with friends. Perhaps I can get David to listen to the Hamilton cast album with me before I wear it out. (My current obsession.)

Robyn Tatu Espadrille - The Latest in Physical Therapy.
I have drop-foot on my Right foot and a wound on there to-boot. The foot is frozen in a high heel position. From being unconscious and laying around in bed for a month. It should relax and be normal (with a lot of work) and come Christmas I should be a walking fool. Walking is difficult on one leg. The good folks here have ordered me an orthodic shoe to help with the walking so I can put weight on that foot. But the shoe is a while in coming so - leave it to David once again. He went to Target and found a shoe that had a heel and opened easy with ties in the front. The therapists loved the idea and I'm using it to walk now. It's caused quite a stir among the staff here. They come from other floors to check it out.
The sock is acting as a padding.
