Well wishes and prayers to you, Angelo. Just fyi… My surgeon required that I start drinking a certain protein shake about 5 days before surgery, and a carb drink the day before surgery, all to help with recovery.

You are lucky to have a nurse navigator! What do the exercises consist of? I do a simple routine for the core based on what I learned from a program meant for autoimmune diseases, but I feel like I should be doing more.

An anesthesiologist I work with suggested I add whey protein to my diet pre and post op. I think it was a great idea for healing well.

I do 12 sit-stand ups everyday to make sure I can get up without using my arms for support and blow into a spirometer 20 times a day. Along with continuing my 10000 step walks everyday.

Hi Angelo , Our valves have problems through no fault of our own , we haven 't done anything wrong lifestyle wise . It 's just " one of those " things, we were all destined to become Heart Warriors ….
