Launching Now: Smiling Scar Selfie Team App!!!

By Adam Pick on February 12, 2016

Have you noticed something? The patients in our community have been posting wonderful Selfies after their surgeries. Actually, they’re not just smiling… They’re also showing off their scars as a badge of courage. It’s beyond inspirational for our community and for future patients. However, there was no “home” for these selfies. 🙁

Well… I wanted to do something about that.

So… Today we’re officially launching the Smiling Scar Selfie Team app!!! 🙂

You can learn all about it in the quick video below.

I’m very hopeful the Smiling Scar Selfie Team app will be inspirational and fun for our whole community. I would also like to thank all of our sponsors who made this possible and a special thanks to Darshan Kahler and the Tradable Bits team who developed this unique application.

Keep on tickin!
Adam

P.S. For the hearing impaired members of our community, I provided a written transcript of the video below.

Hi, everybody, it’s Adam with HeartValveSurgery.com, and today I am super, double-duper excited. Why? Well, today, in fact right now, we’re in the process of launching something that I hope and I believe will be interactive and inspirational for the wonderful patients and caregivers of our community.

But first, have you noticed over the past 12 months, the patients in our community have been posting these wonderful pictures of themselves smiling after their surgeries? They’re not just smiling; they’re also showing off their scars as a badge of courage. In my opinion, it’s an incredible source of inspiration for our community and future patients. When I saw this, I thought to myself, “Self, this is awesome! Let’s do something about it. Let’s create a Smiling Scar Selfie team,” and we did.

Next, we started posting some of these pictures with a Smiling Scar Selfie Badge, and the response was overwhelming. With thousands of likes and gobs and gobs of inspiration, we were really excited. Btu there was a problem, and the problem was there was no place that all of these Smiling Scar Selfies could go. They had no home, until now.

Today, I am thrilled to introduce to all of you the Smiling Scar Selfie Team application at HeartValveSurgery.com. Here’s how it works: let’s say you’re at HeartValveSurgery.com, and you want to access the Smiling Scar Selfie Team. We put it in the Community section, not just the first link but the second link. Yeah, click that. Here, for the first time, is the Smiling Scar Selfie Team!

Right away, you’ll notice you can do two things. You can see all of the members of the Smiling Scar Selfie Team. What you may not know is that if you click one of the members, you’re going to get to learn much more about Debbie Poole. You’re going to get to hear about her story with mitral valve prolapse. You’re going to understand that her surgeon was Dr. Kevin Accola from Florida Hospital, and she had her surgery last March.

What you can also do is you can interact with the Smiling Scar Selfies and talk with other patients, friends, and family members of our community, so that’s one thing you can do. The other thing you can do is, yep, you can post your picture, your smiley, and you can become part of our team by clicking the Share My Selfie link. We made this just about as easy as possible.

You can do two things here to post your picture. You can post it directly through Facebook, or you can create an account, and that’s really, really, really it. So now, it’s your turn. If you’d like to become a member of the growing Smiling Scar Selfie Team, simply head on over to HeartValveSurgery.com, click the Community tab, and then click on the Smiling Scar Selfie Team link. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of health and as we always say here, keep on ticking!
