hi to all my heart valve patients and friends steven a husted (popeye)I want to wish you all a very merry merry Christmas and a happy new year wow 2019 time passes so fast it will be 4and a half years since I had my bovine heart valve put in and so far it is working fine maybe because I go to cardiac rehab 3 twice a week and that keeps my heart going may the good lord take care of us all steven a husted (popeye) a heart valve patient and friend

i am still praying for all who are on this journey of open heart surgery i wish you all the very best i know i was very scared at first but now i look back on it and it was really not that bad you can do this i am 4 years out and doing fine your friend and heart valve patient steven a husted (popeye)

i am just checking in it has been 4 years since my ohs they replaced my aortic valve with a bovine valve and so far it is still ticking away I will be 70 in October and just want to let you know what it was like going thru this journey it started January 2014 when i went to my heart doctor and he told me i had a heart murmer and severe aortic stenosis and would need a new valve the idea of ohs scared me to death so i wanted to put it off as long as possible but he wanted me to get a cath done so i had that done in febuary and i had another appointment in august and my breathing was worse so he sent me to the hospital right from his office and three days later i had a new heart valve and a bypass i was really surprized i did not have any more pain than i did and i was worried about after surgery because i live alone but the doctors sent me to a rehab hospital for two weeks and they really helped me and after that i had a visiting nurse and therapist twice a week for 5 weeks and then i started cardiac rehab phase 2 and after that i started phase 3 of cardiac rehab and things just got better and better i am still in phase 3 and plan to stay as long as i want so for the most part ohs is not as bad as i thought it was going to be i hope this may help someone who is taking this journey your friend and heart valve patient steven a husted (popeye)

i am coming up on my 4 year anniversary on august 19 2018 sunday it will be 4 years ago i got my new bovine heart valve and so far i am doing fine where has the time gone 4 years have come and gone i was very fearful of the surgery but it was not as bad as i thought it would be those of you waiting for surgery with the good lord's help you will get thru this journey and be in rehab before you know it and you should try cardiac rehab after surgery it helps and made me feel a lot better and phase 3 of cardiac rehab helped me make a lot of new friends my prayers are with those coming up for surgery and those in recovery may we all have many more years to enjoy life your friend and heart valve patient (popeye) steven a husted

hi great job Adam Pick i am sure the new launch is going to be great love the work you are doing for heart valve surgery you are a blessing to us all on this heart valve surgery journey and may the good lord above be with all who are coming up for surgery soon and all of us in recovery and i would like to put in a word about cardiac rehab again it has been a blessing to me to help me get back on my feet after surgery phase 2 was good and phase 3 is great you meet a lot of new friends and get good exercise i am coming up on my 4 year anniversary august 19 2014 i got my new bovine heart valve thank you heart valve surgery .com

i am coming up on my 4 year anniversary august 19 2014 hard to believe time goes by so fast my bovine valve is still working and has not given me any trouble i am still going to cardiac rehab phase 3 i think it is a big help to keep up with the exercise after heart surgery and cardiac rehab is a good way to do that a friend of mine just passed away at 89 he went to cardiac rehab for 26 years well i wish all the up coming surgery's the best out come open heart surgery is very scarey but it is not as bad as i thought it was going to be may the lord be with you all your friend and fellow patient steven a husted (popeye) sahusted333@aol.com
